NaWas handled 270 DDoS attacks in the fourth quarter of 2024. This is a remarkable decrease compared to the third quarter of 2024, when 688 attacks were mitigated. Compared to the fourth quarter of 2023 (559 attacks), there was also a decrease in the number of attacks. At the same time, complex attacks that are difficult to mitigate were regularly observed.\n

\nFluctuations in the number of attacks are common from quarter to quarter. Looking at the last quarters of the past four years, 700 attacks were mitigated in the fourth quarter of 2021 for example. while in the fourth quarter of 2022, that number was 375 attacks.\n

\nDNS amplification remains the most important attack vector.
