The latest edition of the NBIP Annual Monitor, the annual report covering the previous calendar year, provides an insight into how NBIP has broadened and deepened its activities.<\/strong><\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

Every year, NBIP publishes the Annual Monitor, which provides an overview of the foundation\u2019s activities in the previous year and the development of its services. For the 2025 Annual Report and subsequent editions, it has been decided \u2013 in addition to the traditional PDF version \u2013 to set up a website<\/a> where the report can also be found. This method of presenting the annual report illustrates the progress and deepening of NBIP\u2019s work in 2025.<\/p>\n

Expansion of the Board & Team<\/h3>\n

In 2025, the NBIP Board advertised a vacancy for a secretary and a vacancy for a general board member. At the end of November, Jeroen Stevens (Interconnect) was nominated as secretary and Ruben van der Zwan (Worldstream & Greenhouse Datacenters) as a general board member during the annual members\u2019 meeting. With the addition of two experienced industry veterans to the board, NBIP is ready to expand and intensify its activities in the coming years, including in Europe.<\/p>\n

The fact that the organisation is already developing rapidly is also evident from the growth in staff, some of whom have been recruited specifically for European projects in areas such as digital autonomy, in which NBIP is active. NBIP ended 2025 with over 20 staff members, each with their own area of expertise.<\/p>\n

Development services<\/h3>\n

The NaWas DDoS mitigation service has implemented an updated sFlow functionality (known as Splitflow within NaWas). In addition, the service now also offers GRE for clean traffic handoff as an optional add-on for participants who are not connected to one or more internet exchanges.<\/p>\n

The portal for requests and orders, including those relating to lawful interception and disclosure, has also been further developed; this includes preparations for European eEvidence orders, which providers may receive from 18 August 2026 onwards from EU Member States that have already completed implementation. By the end of 2025, NBIP had over 194 participants, of which 107 organisations participate in the Tapdienst and 131 organisations participate in the NaWas. There are 44 organisations participating in both services. Organisations that use both the Tapdienst and the NaWas are counted as a single participant in the total number of NBIP participants.<\/p>\n

Focus on European growth<\/h3>\n

The Annual Monitor highlights NBIP\u2019s position in Europe across various areas. For instance, the foundation is stepping up its public affairs activities in the Netherlands, whilst at European level NBIP is also a key partner in discussions on, amongst other things, the development of \u2018Made in Europe\u2019 operational services. <\/p>\n

In addition, the team has made significant progress in its participation in various EU projects. Examples include IPCEI-CIS via the MISD consortium and LLMs for Europe. Clean Networks\u2019 threat intelligence for combating online abuse by service providers has also been further developed over the past year.<\/p>\n

By continuing to participate in new EU projects in the coming years, the services provided to participants can be continuously modernised and improved. The aim is also to develop new cyber resilience and compliance services based on NBIP\u2019s common model. As development is always based on open standards and open source, work is underway to strengthen the digital autonomy of the digital infrastructure sector, thereby providing it with greater digital resilience as a whole.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t
