Today, the latest edition of the NBIP Annual Monitor was published. This annual report looks back on developments within the organisation over the past year. It also discusses the organisation’s course and ambitions for the future.
NBIP publishes the Annual Monitor to provide insight into developments within the organisation and its services. The report covers topics such as developments in participant numbers, the DDoS landscape, combating abuse and ambitions for the future.
Developments
In 2024, NBIP worked on further developing a robust and steadfast organisation that provides its services and expertise to participants, partners, and stakeholders in a relatively autonomous manner.
As described in early 2025 in the DDoS annual review for 2024, which is also included in this report, DDoS attacks are increasingly being used to disrupt Western democratic societies and sow fear. Unfortunately, attacks, hacks and theft of sensitive data are also commonplace in the broader cyber domain.
The NBIP’s mission remains necessary and urgent: to provide shared facilities for digital infrastructure providers so that they can maintain their digital resilience and compliance with laws and regulations.
In addition to updates on NBIP’s services, the Annual Monitor also includes interviews with Rick Sulman (Vice-Chair of the NBIP Board) and Valerie Frissen (Director of the SIDN Fund). Among other things, she discusses the collaboration between NBIP and the SIDN Fund through numerous projects and how the Netherlands can strengthen its digital autonomy in the coming years.
