The board of NBIP is looking for a secretary and a general board member

These vacancies for the board of NBIP are now closed.

The board of the NBIP foundation is looking to expand and has a vacancy for a secretary and a vacancy for a general board member. The NBIP board is responsible for the strategic direction, financial health and compliance with laws and regulations of the foundation. The profiles for both board roles can be viewed via the links below:

About NBIP

NBIP has over 200 participants who together form a substantial part of the Dutch and European digital infrastructure. These include hosting and cloud providers, ISPs, VoIP providers, carriers and access providers.

NBIP’s services include Lawful Interception and Lawful Disclosure services, operational compliance support, resilience against DDoS attacks, threat intelligence and knowledge sharing.

In the coming years, the ambition is to strengthen the operational compliance and cyber resilience of the digital infrastructure in the Netherlands and Europe on the basis of shared facilities such as the NaWas. A strategy based on participation in European projects has been implemented to achieve this goal. The further development and improvement of existing services, responding to current developments such as new legislation and regulations, is also an ongoing focus. More information about the activities and background of NBIP can be found in the NBIP Monitor report.

Criteria for candidates

The Council of Participants must nominate at least two candidates for each vacancy on the board. These candidates do not necessarily have to be employed by an NBIP participant, but at least half of the board members must come from a participant.

Currently, three of the four current board members are also representatives of an NBIP participant. There is therefore scope to nominate candidates from outside the NBIP participants.

Nominations by the Council of Participants must in any case comply with the following requirements in accordance with the articles of association:

For each candidate, the following information must be provided: their age, their profession and the positions they hold and have held in the past, insofar as these are relevant to the performance of their duties.

Additional information, such as a detailed motivation, qualifications such as education or certifications obtained and previous board experience, is also desirable so that an informed decision can be made by the chair of the Council of Participants and the board. Prospective candidates are therefore requested to also provide this information to the chair of the Council of Participants.

Procedure

The Council of Participants, in which each participant of NBIP has a seat and one vote, has the right to nominate two candidates for each vacancy on the board.

Persons wishing to apply for one of the vacancies should therefore contact the chair of the NBIP Council of Participants, Frans ter Borg. This can be done by sending an email to voorzitterrvd@nbip.nl with the name of the candidate and the vacancy for which they wish to apply in the subject line.

Current NBIP participants can vote on the candidates nominated if more than two prospective candidates apply for each vacancy. The nominations are binding and will be considered by the board. Nominated candidates may be invited by the board for an interview.

In accordance with the articles of association, the board may reject nominations (legally dissolve them) if a two-thirds majority of the board members agree, for example in the exceptional case that the nominated candidates are not considered suitable by the board.

The board will appoint the new board members. Once they are known, this will be announced to the participants of NBIP.
