The NaWas DDoS mitigation service protects digital infrastructure and digital service providers against DDoS attacks and provides insight into evolving DDoS trends. We are keen to share this knowledge so that, together, we can stand stronger in the fight against DDoS attacks.
In Q2 2026, NaWas mitigated a total of 2,767 DDoS attacks (+39 compared to Q1 2026). Measured in bits, the largest attack exceeded 203.44 Gbps. The largest attack, measured in packets per second, consisted of 102.66 Mpps (million packets per second).
In addition to an increase in the size of attacks, NaWas mitigated an increasing number of attacks comprising multiple complex vectors. These multi-vector attacks dominate the top five attacks recorded in Q2. Furthermore, we are seeing an increase in botnet-driven DDoS attacks, and the infrastructure behind the botnets appears to be highly resilient. When a large botnet is disrupted, other Mirai-derived botnets take over the traffic relatively quickly.
