DDoS: figures first semester 2018
After the publication of our DDoS report for 2017, we are already working on this year’s findings. In a new report to be published this summer, we will analyze our findings over the first half of 2018. Here’s a sneak preview.
Number of DDoS attacks
In 2017, we coped with a total of 827 DDoS attacks. In the first six months of 2018, there were already 555.
Duration of DDoS attacks
In 2017, the majority of attacks lasted no longer than an hour (more than 78 percent). This is also the case in this six-month period: more than 81 percent of DDoS attacks (453 out of 555) were completed within an hour.
Size of DDoS attacks
More than 87 percent of the attacks were no greater than 10 Gbps in the first semester of 2018. In 2017 this percentage was almost the same: more than 88 percent.
